About

Welcome to “My Culinary Fix!”

I am a former “Longuylander” now turned mid-westerner. I am the mom to two lovely little men and the wife of an equally lovely husband. We met at the Manhattan School of Music where I studied Vocal Jazz Performance. I continued on to teach general music to the most beautiful kiddos from East Harlem to Long Island City, but decided to stay home full time when my own kiddos arrived. In 2019 we made the big decision to leave our Bronx apartment to pursue home ownership in another Jazz lovin’ city..KANSAS. With a bigger kitchen and time at home with babies in tow, I’ve been able to devote more time to my passion for cooking and entertaining. Here, I will share my go-to recipes and will create my own, drawing from my restaurant filled upbringing.

My great grandmother came to America as a young lady from Albareto, Italy. After saving enough money she opened her own restaurant “The Villa Bianca” in Queens NY. I spent a lot of time there as a child and eventually worked there as a waitress. One of my fondest memories growing up was playing with the live lobsters in the big walk-in fridge. From there, I went on to work in several different restaurants and my love for food flourished. I spent summers on my parents couch watching food network; cooking what I saw and trying to recreate my Nona’s popovers and gnocchi from recipes heard over the phone.

As I went on to pursue a career in Jazz, my younger sister Shannon studied at Le Cordon Bleu and became an amazing chef whom I am constantly asking for advice and seeking culinary wisdom from. Holidays are filled with conversations in the kitchen about techniques, flavors and new dishes that we’ve tried.

In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, my sister Shannon passed away. This site is dedicated to her. Every day I cook and bake for her. She is loved so much and I miss her every day.

“Come up to meet you, tell you I’m sorry. You don’t know how lovely you are. I had to find you, tell you I need you tell you I set you apart.”
